Classes for Every Age and Stage

At GMB Dance, we offer purposeful, progressive dance education in a supportive community setting. Classes are designed to meet dancers where they are, whether they are stepping into the studio for the first time or continuing a long-term relationship with movement.

We teach ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap across age-based programs that support both growth and enjoyment. Our focus is on technique, creativity, and confidence, without pressure to compete or perform beyond what feels right for each dancer.

Ballet

Ballet provides a strong technical foundation, supporting posture, coordination, strength, and expressive movement. Classes follow a structured, age-appropriate progression with an emphasis on safe alignment and musicality.

Ballet is offered for children, youth, and adults, and may be taken on its own or alongside other styles.

Students may pursue their ballet exams with the RAD through GMB. Click here more details.

Jazz

Jazz is energetic, rhythmic, and expressive. Classes build coordination, flexibility, musicality, and confidence through upbeat movement and dynamic combinations.

Jazz is a great option for dancers who enjoy expressive performance and learning movement that feels lively and fun.

Contemporary

Contemporary classes blend technique with creative exploration. Dancers work on strength, flexibility, floor work, and expressive movement while developing personal artistry and confidence.

This style supports both technical growth and creative choice, making it well-suited to a wide range of dancers.

Tap

Tap is rhythm-based dance that turns movement into music. Classes focus on timing, coordination, and clear footwork in an encouraging, playful environment.

Tap is offered for children, youth, adults, and seniors, and is especially loved for its social and musical nature.

For the 2025/2026 Season, Contemporary and Tap are offered as a combo class for the Primary dance level. This works well because it allows young dancers to explore two dynamic styles in a single class — helping them build rhythm, musicality, and expressive movement all at once. It also keeps things fresh and fun, while supporting their overall coordination and confidence as they grow.

Class Pathways by Age

Choosing the right starting point is simple. Classes are grouped by age to support physical development, focus, and learning styles.

Pre-Dance | Ages 3–4

A joyful introduction to dance and group movement. Pre-Dance classes explore rhythm, space, coordination, and creative play while building confidence and comfort in a studio setting.

At GMB Dance, all children must be able to enter the dance space independently without a parent or guardian, unless specific support has been arranged in advance. This helps us create a safe, focused, and confident environment for all dancers.

Primary | Ages 57

Primary classes introduce foundational technique across styles in a fun, structured way. Dancers develop coordination, body awareness, musicality, and expressive movement while learning how to work together in a class setting.

This level supports curiosity, imagination, and growing independence.

Junior | Ages 8–11

Junior classes build on foundational skills with increased focus, strength, and coordination. Dancers continue developing technique while gaining confidence, musicality, and expressive range.

Classes encourage effort, curiosity, and steady progress at an age-appropriate pace.

Youth | Ages 12–18

Youth classes support technical refinement and deeper artistic exploration. Dancers may choose styles based on interest, experience, and personal goals, whether they are dancing for enjoyment, growth, or performance opportunities.

Classes emphasize healthy technique, expressive movement, and self-trust.

Adult | Ages 19+

Adult classes are open to beginners and returning dancers alike. Classes focus on technique, musicality, and movement quality in a welcoming, non-competitive environment.

Whether you are reconnecting with dance or trying something new, adult classes are designed to meet you where you are.
